HybridFlex Train – UK
Developed in partnership with Arriva’s Chiltern Railways, Rolls-Royce and Porterbrook, the HybridFlex train is the first 100 mph-capable battery-diesel hybrid train to operate on the UK’s national rail network.
WINK Train – Netherlands
Developed in partnership with Arriva Netherlands, Stadler and ProRail, the WINK Train was developed as a world first: a hybrid train that could operate with diesel engines using hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO) and switch to battery power, which stores energy released during braking, for sections of the journey.

Partnering with the province of Limburg, Netherlands
The Passenger Transport Authority (PTA) representing the province of Limburg asked Arriva to deliver a zero-emission bus operation across the whole region.
This formed part of Arriva’s bid to win the largest transport contract in the Netherlands.
